Social goals are designed to track social behaviors that are encouraged during social interactions with teachers, therapists or other students but that do not have specific instructional tasks associated with their completion. Instead, data is taken based on observation of spontaneous, or structured social interactions the student participates in. Social goals are similar to instructional goals except social goals have no targets and there are no specific instructions for social goals (there are activities that can promote social interaction). There is only one data collection type supported for social goals (+/-) and social goals do not contain information related to mastery.
A teacher or user with edit privilege may add and edit social goals and objectives in several different ways:

Each section of a social goal is described below:
Social Goal:
- Goal name: Name you want to call this goal.
- Active: By default the goal will be made active, but you can make it inactive at a later time.
- Long-term Social goal: Describe what this goal accomplishes. This detail may come directly from the student's IEP.
Social Objective:
- Objective Name: A name or title used to identify a or social objective in the DDtrac program.
- Social Objective: Te specific social behavior that is encouraged during
social interactions.
- Activities: Any activity involving 2 or more people where the social behavior is likely to occur or can be promoted by staff.
- Date Introduced: When the group began working on the objective.
- Active: Is this objective active or inactive? If active, you will be able to collect data for it.
- Files: Attached files that can be images, PDF files, Word documents,
Excel spreadsheets, etc. which are used either to provide additional
information about an objective or to document socialization.
- Notes: Any additional notes describing the goal or objective, how it will be taught, requirements, current levels of performance etc.
