Once you have logged in to DDtrac and selected a student from the drop
down list on the Home page, you will need to create goals, objectives
and targets for that student before you can begin to take data. The
fastest way to do this is to use the "Quick Start" page.
{Click} the Goals tab and choose the "Quick Start: Create
Multiple New Instructional Goals & Objectives" link near the middle
of the page. This will open a window titled Add New Goals &
Objectives for Student Name (see Figure below).
- Add New Goals and Objectives Screen -
This screen will allow you to add multiple goals, objectives and targets at one time.
- Type a unique name for the new long term Goal in the text field
labeled Goal Name 1. For illustration purposes, name the new Goal,
"Gross Motor."
- Type a unique name for a shorter term Objective in the first
row of the Objective Name column. This objective should be associated
with the long term goal immediately above it. For illustration
purposes, we added two objectives for the Gross Motor goal, "Jumping"
and "Balance"
- {Select} the type of data to be collected using
the drop down list to the right of the objective name. DDtrac currently
supports the following data collection types:
- To
the right of the data collection type, you can add up to 6 targets for
your new objective. For example, we added "Jump forward 1/2 foot" and "Jump forward 1 foot" as targets for the Jumping objective. You need to add at least 1
target for each objective because data is collected for targets.
- Once you have typed in all of the Goals, Objectives and Targets for the selected student {Click}
the Add Goals, Objectives & Targets button at the bottom of the
page to add the new goals, objectives and targets to the DDtrac
database.
Other Information about Quick Start:
This page will allow you to create Objectives & Targets for up
to 5 brand new long-term IEP type goals. If you want to create more
goals simply use the page a second time.
- If you leave a goal, objective or target name blank it will not be added to the database.
- The quick start page automatically sets the following variables:
- The start date for each objective and target is set as the current date.
- The percent required for mastery is set to 80% and number of sessions to measure mastery over is set to 5 sessions.
- The objectives and targets are set as active.
- To change any of these default values or to add additional
information about the goals & objectives, go to the Edit Existing
Instructional Goals, Objectives & Targets page and {Click} the link for the new goal and change the data there.
Once you have created goals, objectives and targets you can begin to take data. To do this you should
{Click} the
Data Entry tab and
{Click} the Start New Work Session button (if you have not already done so). Finally,
{Click} the link for the objective you want to take data for and begin data collection.
