Data Import-Export

One of the goals of the DDtrac system is to make data exchange with other programs as easy as possible. The first step in this process is to allow the import and export of a variety of data in a. This allows a school to download DDtrac data into any district database that can accept an Excel file or to import historic data into DDtrac.

You can also use DDtrac's file upload utility to attach a file to a DDtrac goal/objective or to a comment.

Data Import-Export is usually performed by someone with administrative privilege in DDtrac (although some types of data download can be performed by any DDtrac user).  File upload to a goal or objective must be done by someone with edit permission for the student whereas file upload to a daily comment can be done by anyone with read permission for the student.

To import data into DDtrac or export data from DDtrac go to the "Administer Site" tab in DDtrac (this tab is only visible to users with administrative privileges for DDtrac) and choose "Manage Data".

You will be presented with three data download options:
You will also be presented with three data import options:
You can also download individual data and/or download group data from the "Download Data" link under the Reports tab.  This allows users to download data for students/groups they are working with, even if they do not have administrative privilege.

The data import/export feature was designed to allow for the easy transfer of data between DDtrac databases.  For example, if a parent wants to maintain their own DDtrac subscription in addition to the one the school maintains they can download data files from the school system and import them directly into their home subscription of DDtrac, enabling them to maintain a comprehensive picture of their child's functioning across all settings.
