Data that has been collected is only useful if used for on-going and active decision-making. A primary question educators need to ask about special education programs is: Are current educational programs and behavioral interventions benefiting students?
The ability to summarize data from multiple data sources is necessary to answer this question. DDtrac contains a variety of
reports and
charts that allow educators to summarize data over time to determine if skills are being acquired or behavior problems reduced. Information provided in these reports can be used to assess improvement and areas in need of attention. The reporting and charting features of DDtrac are found in the following sections:
Data is only useful if it is current, compatible with decisions that need to be made, and is used for decision making. DDtrac reporting options are structured for decision making in the following areas:
- Design and management of individual student education programs,
- design and management of social goals for individual students,
- targeted intervention for problem areas for individual students and/or
- individual student behavior support plans and systems.
DDtrac
reports and
charts provide information about the performance on:
- Instructional drills: including average performance across the period being examined, frequency specific drills and targets are worked on, and last time a particular drill or target was attempted.
- Social skills: including the amount of time spent working on/assessing social skill development and the frequency specific social skills are demonstrated.
- Behaviors: summarizes the frequency, duration, type, location, and time of problem behavior events.
